Girin Information Center - Lateral Epicanthoplasty

Today's Topic - Recovery period of Lateral Epicanthoplasty

Lateral Epicanthoplasty takes more time rather than other eyeplasty such as double eyelids surgery. Because, It needs to be stitch out two times post-operative 5 days and 8 days.

And the shape of lateral canthus would be changed through 6 months.
During recovery period redness, conjunctival edema and lateral canthus could be shown 'droopy'.But those are just temporary symptoms, which get better as times go by.
After 5 months, there is no visible scarring, no redness, no conjunctival edama with wide & defined eye shape.

Since the lateral epicanthoplasty required long recovery period rather than other eyeplasty, many patients worry about recovery and result.
However as it mentioned above, patients need to take a time for recovery for 6 months at least.
