Lower Eyelid bag Fat Repositioning (Transconjunctival Lower Blepharoplasty) process STEP1. Resection The Transconjunctival approach to lower blepharoplasty involves an incision made on the conjnctival surface. STEP2 Repositioning Before repositioning obital fat, surgeon dissects between Infraorbital rim and periosteotomy. After dissection, fat would be relocated to the sub or supra periosteral planes. The orbital septum becomes lax with aging, and this can lead to bulging of the orbital fat through the weak septum. The procedure is that incise lower eyelids to resect excessive fat and relocate some fat to make even surface using thread.

Today's Topic - Recovery period of Lateral Epicanthoplasty Lateral Epicanthoplasty takes more time rather than other eyeplasty such as double eyelids surgery. Because, It needs to be stitch out two times post-operative 5 days and 8 days. And the shape of lateral canthus would be changed through 6 months. During recovery period redness, conjunctival edema and lateral canthus could be shown 'droopy'.But those are just temporary symptoms, which get better as times go by. After 5 months, there is no visible scarring, no redness, no conjunctival edama with wide & defined eye shape.  Since the lateral epicanthoplasty required long recovery period rather than other eyeplasty, many patients worry about recovery and result.  However as it mentioned above, patients need to take a time for recovery for 6 months at least.  

Today's Topic - What is Ptosis correction? Ptosis is defined as drooping of the upper eyelid(s). And this is caused sleepy, tired appearance and reduces vision. It has problem both visually and functionally. Ptisos correction perform to repair ptosis surgical method which tightening the levator muscle to elevate the eyelid by Dr.Song, specialized in eyeplasty. After the surgery, patient would get more defined eyes.

Eyeplasty - NIP (Non-Incisional double eyelids surgery with Ptosis correction) The NIP is the surgery that no needs incision, scar, swelling and stitch. And It could be corrected any types of eye lid. Short surgery period with out stitch makes time to take short recovery period.

Question - There are redness and bleeding occurred on surgical area after Lateral Epicanthoplasty,. Are they side effects or infection? * Side effect case (Scarring) * Temporally symptoms (Redness and Conjunctival swelling) Answer - NO, those symptoms are not side effect or infection either. Lateral Epicanthoplasty is incision method and conjunctiva and soft tissue around eyes would be damaged during operation. For this reason, those symptoms would be appeared temporally and disappear as times passed. Then, what is the side effects (or infection)?   Major symptoms are scarring and eyes deformation. To prevent risk of side effect, patients have to with skillful surgeon.
