Today's Topic - What is the Medial Epicanthoplasty? Medial Epicanthoplasty is a procedure to remove (or minimize) the epicanthal fold (or Mongolian fold). Most patients undergoing the procedure with double eyelids surgery to make harmonious eyelids with rest of the facial features. However, the procedure requires making incisions methods on the face. And it has risk of scarring after operation. Thus, patient has to undergo the operation with skilled surgeon. The below pictures are recovery process of Medial Epicanthoplasty; * Before * After 2 days * After stitch out (5 days) * After 1 week After Medial Epicanthoplasty, some temporary symptoms would be occurred such as redness, bleeding. But, those symptoms would be disappeared as times go by. And it is possible to do make-up (include eye make up as well) after stitch out.

Question -    I have much fat on upper eyelids, Can you remove it through double eyelids surgery? Answer -  You do not need to remove the fat on upper eyelids. Because, the fat would decline with advancing years. Also the reason, patients want to remove the fat is that eyelids are not defined with too much thin eyelid thickness; Shown below picture (Before)   * Before (Droopy eyelids & puffy upper eyelids) The patient had underwent double eyelids surgery and lateral canthoplasty in other clinic. As times go by, her eyelids had started droopy and it caused droopy eyelids. Topic - How to check facial bone through X-Ray after surgery? * Facial contouring 3DCT Before and After Nowadays, 3DCT system are generalizing in many clinic and hospital. And patients would easy to check surgical area and nerve in 3DCT. Then what about X-Ray? * Facial contouring Before and After X-Ray As shown above, patents hard to check how change after facial contouring generally. Let's expend surgical area (blue circle & purple dotted line) * Before Before having facial contouring, you would possible to see white line on face. Doctor would check surgical area through the white line.  * After After facial contouring, the white line is not shown anymore, which means doctor cut the mandible bone. Today's Topic - Why skin is sagged after facial contouring? Most of patients ask about skin sagging when they are considering facial contouring and the reason of skin sagging is so various depending on procedure. However, there is a typical reason for skin sagging; Choose wrong facial contouring method . * Actual bone after T-osteotomy Generally, patient said that they need to get Jaw reduction with T-osteotomy to correct chin tip. But this information is half correct and half wrong. T-osteotomy is suitable for patients who have long, uneven, and recede chin. Other does not need to choose T-osteotomy. There are various procedures instead of T-osteotomy such as  long curve osteotomy, silicone implants and fat graft. So, how patients could know the proper procedure to reduce the risk of skin sagging? The answer is that patients have to visit clinic (or hospital) in person for checking which procedure is suitable with doctor.
