[GIRIN Plastic Surgery] Thread Lifting

How much can you get slimmer through Thread Lifting? Can it correct asymmetric face?

This is a case of a patient with sagging skin from the side effects of Zygoma surgery at another clinic.

The patient was a young woman in her early 20s, but she lacked in tightening and had thick skin tissues with lots of fat layers. Even after she had her Cheekbone Reduction, as the bone went inwards, there was remaining excess skin, which made her look like she had protruding cheekbone. Skin sagging doesn't always come out from wrinkles or aging, it can also come out as a result of swelling. Most of the time, this happens to people who had a wrong Facial Contour Surgery. The main concerns after Cheekbone Reductions are skin sagging in the cheekbone area. We'll stress this further later when we talk about Cheekbone Reduction however, there are numerous reasons for sagging skin after the surgery. One of the main reasons is that in the place where there was a bone, only skin remains after the surgery and the excess skin will sag due to gravity. For this patient's case, because she has thick skin tissues with lots of fat layers, it makes it look as if she has saggy skin all over the face. Yet, getting Facial Fat Removal and Facial Lifting along with Cheekbone Reduction can improve the sagging skin.

The tip of the patient's chin is sided left, which gives it a look that she has an asymmetric face. The patient's right corner of the lip(left side of the picture)is raised and a more developed jaw on the left side. In this case, for the overall asymmetric correction and slimmer-looking face, V-line Surgery along with Facial Lifting would be the best choice. Because the patient's ears were located a little high, we recommended to leave out a bit of an angle underneath her ears and since the patient was afraid to get Two-Jaw Surgery, leaving out fat removal on the front cheek and temple area, we decided to manage the sagging skin on the cheek area using Thread Lifting. We also explained it to the patient that since she has thick bone and fat layer on her jaw-line, it would be hard to improve perfectly just by lifting as well as slimmer-looking effect from the front view.

This is a picture from after 8 months of the surgery. Protruded cheekbone from the side view looks much improved. We can see that her face got overall slimmer without Cheekbone Reduction Revision since it was due to saggy skin and fat not the size of the bone.

However, as explained to the patient earlier, the slimming effect from the front view is very minor. This particular patient had problems with her bone size on her chin, not the sagginess of the skin. Therefore, for a more slimmed face getting V-line Surgery done would be the best. However overall asymmetric face, as well as protruding cheekbones, are well improved.
The patient and the doctor need to know which kind of surgery would best fit. If the patient has a big bone, getting botox every day would not make any difference. The doctor needs to recommend the best surgery for the patient that best suits each patient's facial type to prevent the patient from wasting money and time.
